Fuji Instax 200

I have a new addition to my camera family ! :D Let's welcome my new Fuji Instax 200, I can't even explain how much I heart this camera. Polaroid may be dead, but the art of instant film is not.

The best thing about this new Fuji Film is that it's not only better looking than Polaroid in color/contrast/saturation, it's also readily available and in current production. No crazy bid wars on eBay, though the thrill of the hunt, I admit, isssss inciting.

As soon as I got my hands on this beauty I was instantly addicted (get it? instant?) something about instant gratification puts a smile on my face.

So this week look for major post's, all Fuji Instax all the time !!

A New Venture

I believe everything should start with an idea

walking outside and capturing the world as I know it is a wonderful thing. but lately i've been craving more, more meaning, more stories, more ooompphh. so I started doing some thinking, what would bring meaning to my subject & not just me..? how can I touch other's who see it? what format do I use, digital, film, of just a bit of both? anyyywhooo I went on a birthday lunch with my mother and my dear friend Mallory over the weekend and brought up the fact that I wanted to start a series, and it was like she read my mind (my mama that is).

to start off let me say that I've been struggling with the thought of, 'can a marriage sustain over 50+ year's anymore.' seeing as in my experience, not only in my life but others as well, people don't seem to have the same reverence for it as they once did, if it's not working, well get a new one. Horrible thought, but it is the awful truth of our generation more times than not. being the eternal optimist that I am, I still cling to the belief that love that span's a lifetime must still exist... please still exist.

this brings me back to my fab birthday lunch, my mother suggested that my new series could be based on old friends of her's, a married couple in there 80's. so for the next three months I'll be diving head first into a love that truly does exist, care to join me?

shakespeare once said," Journeys end in lovers meeting." for Felice & Bob, that meeting took place over 64 years ago.

let the journey begin.

Pondering

just saw Julie & Julia, wonderful film. as I drove home from the theater I realized that this movie left me deep in thought, partly because my life is about to change in a monumental way, maybe I'm getting cold feet? everyone fear's the unknown right??
anyways here are a few of my thought's...

* I must live in europe for a portion of my life, MUST.
* what will my mark be? (You know, the one everyone want's to leave on this world, this life??)
* am I ok accepting and recognizing my own success without the validation of others?
* what's my story book ending?
* food is by far one of my best friends, food can make a bad day turn into sweet goodness.
* I need to get Julia Child's cook book ASAP.
* do I feed other people enough?
* I need to invest in more cooking items.
* am I living up to my full potential?
* will I be able to touch lives ? better yet, have I already?
* is moving to San Francisco going to change the course of my life as I know it? for those of you who don't know I'm moving up to San Francisco in a few months. a place where I know about ummmm Zero people! though this photography school is one of the best in the nation, which I am soooo lucky to be able to attend, still can't believe I got in !!! I find my self in a state of utter joy and slight panic. Far from everything I know and love, living in a BIG city for the first time, surrounded by fellow artist's.

what I do know is there is something in the act of 'creating' something that satisfies my very soul. I thank my lucky stars for the ability to 'see & create' with out it I'm not quite sure who I would be.

I think i'll take more pictures now.

Labor Day

My nephew's got a chance to sit on the bike. What a COOL Grandpa they have !!

My sister in law had been dying to get a ride on my dad's Harley. He finally took her on a ride over to Cook's Corner, a local biker hangout in South OC.

How fly does she look !? Like she's been riding all her life.

Love you Guy's

Happy Labor Day
